Cleaning Question: Bath Mat Residue on Bathroom Floor

QUESTION:
I need to remove old rubber left on the bath floor from an old bath mat. will this(Quick’n Brite) cope or do you have anything else that will do the job?

Thanks, Mike

ANSWER:
There is a very good chance that Quick’n Brite will work for this type of job. It is known for removing gum, tar, wax and that sticky stuff left behind by stickers. What you want to clean sounds similar. The best way to go about it would be to use the paste full strength. Apply it to the build-up and let it sit for a while(about 10 minutes). Come back with a scrub brush or something slightly abrasive that is safe to use on your bathroom floor. Work the cleaner into the rubber a little bit and then let it sit for a little while longer(10 more minutes). This time when you come back, use the brush to loosen it the rest of the way, and then a clean terry cloth towel to wipe it up completely. It may take a second application to completely remove all signs of stickiness, but this method should work. PLEASE NOTE: The most important steps are the ones where you let the cleaner sit. It is a natural enzyme, so it takes time to work, but if applied correctly and allowed time to work, it should give good results on this type of job.
