Is cleaning your washing machine important? It certainly is! The inside of your washing machine is constantly being subjected to dirty water, mineral deposits, detergent deposits, and if you launder cloth diapers it is especially important to keep your machine clean and in tip-top condition. Much like dishwashers, sinks and bathtubs get dirty even though they are meant to clean things, your washing machine can become a mess in no time. Though, most dirt and soil is washed out with the water, dirt, soap residue and other unidentifiable grungy objects can be left behind and you actually have to get rid of this dirt yourself. Every time you wash your clothes, hard water and detergents cause build up to accumulate also, inside the tub, pump and hoses. This build-up reduces the ability of your washing machine to perform and mineral build-up can be abrasive to your cloths and diapers you are washing, causing them to wear faster. As your calendar pages fly by, carrying you through October and into November, many of you will participate in that age-old tradition called fall housecleaning. You’ll be packing up the swim toys, summer clothes, picnic baskets, and oscillating fans. Then you’ll dig out the winter coats, boots, comfy afghans, fireplace tools, and, if you are lucky enough to live where snow falls, sleds and ice skates.

You’ll be busy cleaning out the dust and grime tracked in by kids and dogs and by breezes blowing through open windows all the busy summer long. Before you snuggle in for the winter to enjoy family evenings around the crackling fireplace or have those holiday gatherings with all their hustle and bustle, you’ll probably wax, polish, and clean your house until the fireplace glow is reflected throughout the room.

We spend a lot of money on our clothes, but to make them last as long as possible you need to know how to properly launder them. You don’t want to waste money because your clothes need to be replaced prematurely, so follow these easy steps to wash and dry your clothes.

1. Familiarize Yourself with Your Machines
If you havn’t already, it is time to get to know your wahing machine and dryer. They are all about the same, but everyone has a feature or quirk that is unique to it only. Since all washing machines and dryers are a little bit different, you will want to become familiarized with the individual intricacies of your machines. Typically, the manufacturer will provide full operating instructions, and troubleshooting tips for common problems.

Mini-blinds are an affordable alternative to more extravagent window coverings. They have all but rplaced old fashioned venetian blinds because they are attractive, easy to use and install, and they are cheap. Mini-blinds are great because they can soften, filter, or completely block the sunlight. The only bad part about mini-blinds, is when you have to clean them. They attract dust, dirt, grease, hair, pollen, bugs—you name it, it’s probably on your miniblinds. Most people will put off cleaning their blinds until the last possible moment because these window treatments are considered to be one of the hardest things to clean in our homes. Many traditional methods include taking the blinds off the wall, putting them in the bathtub, or spraying them down in the backyard. It doesn’t have to be that hard to clean your blind though. Indoor pollution has become an issue of growing concern and increased visibility. There are many companies that are marketing products and services to take care of your indoor pollution. Duct cleaning is referred to the cleaning of various heating and cooling system components of forced air systems, including the supply and return air ducts and registers, grilles and diffusers, heat exchangers heating and cooling coils, condensate drain pans, fan motor and fan housing, and the air handling unit housing.

Knowledge about the potential benefits and possible problems of air duct cleaning is limited. As the conditions are different in every home, hence it is difficult to generalize about whether or not air duct cleaning in your home would be beneficial.
